I was just let go. My last day of employment will be the 23rd of March. They're theoretically "...transitioning away from the kind of work" I do, which I suspect may be a little more difficult than they currently believe, once I'm gone - but I'm going to have a lot of flexibility to come & go & job search with imputity on work time over the next 30 days.
More as my "throwing my hat into the ring" story develops.

Very sad for the moment, but I believe in the long run, once things settle and you FIND that next new niche that you will be very pleased.
God's speed my great friend!
Is there anything I can do for you?
Anything?
Thanks, man.
I wish I could say "use your connections to help me," but I fear there is no one in this forum that has any that would be of any use to me.
Simply be on my side and ready to listen, as usual, I guess. Thanks again.
Damn. Hopefully for the best in the long run.
Good luck man...here for you whenever you need it.
And, thank ye as well. Much considering to do, much mulling over - especially for a man who tends to overOVER analyze. Thanks in advance for the being there when I need it thing. I may holler at ya, dawg.
What are you doing now!
Just thought that you might have a plan of action if you did indeed get the call for a one on one meeting.
I'll echo these sentiments. Sorry about this, man.
I only wish I had more connectivity. I suspect Iowa would not be in your immediate plans, regardless.
I agree with C.F. this will work out to your benefit in the long run. The short run.. well, that's not so much a good place to be.
Thanks everyone - you're all great.
I had a hopeful-ish conversation with my career counselor today who assured me that I have enough time (thanks to the severence package) "to do it right." (meaning the job search)
Sharon & I are getting a babysitter tomorrow morning and we're going to go to Steamworks and just talk - we haven't really had the chance since the hammer dropped. Byproduct of Sharon being a little sick and going to bed early, and having kids during the day. Pat M & Steven, you just can't have conversations - real conversations amongst adults with young kids in the house, no matter how amazing they are.
