Guitar chords transcribed, all parts performed & recorded, song mixed, CD burned all in about three hours.
My theatre company is making our annual appearance at Mississippi Heritage Day, and our dramaturg, Valerie, penned some lyrics to be sung to the tune of "Mr. Lonely," by Bobby Vinton. Sharon (in sparkly, blue wig and long flowing blue gown) will be portraying The Mississippi River and singing a karoke version of this recording on Sept. 28.
For now, I threw in some vocals as a guide.
Much fun, as doo-wop is near and dear to my heart. But also one of my most productive, intensive, slapdash nights of recording ever; showing what one is capable of with a simple thing like a real deadline.

I likey!
good job doing with the session and deadlines can do wonders...why is it that giving yourself a deadline is so different than a deadline imposed upon you by somebody else - I think there may be a few reasons
Thanks and thanks. Definitely a few differences beween motivation with the two projects.
Dude, maybe you should put these on an album and send it out via CMC.
Yeah, that'd be aewsome.
That may be the only possible excommunicable offense left to members in the CMC.
Didn't mean to offend.
Good stuff, particularly the instrumentation.
Reminded me of something from Bored of the Rings, their twisted take on the story of Beren and Luthien. This is the quote:
Even now, in the spring, the river softly cries, 'Menthol, Menthol, you are one wazoo. One day I'm the elf next door and then poof I'm a river. You stink.' And the wind answers, 'Phooey.'"
It may not be funny at all out of context (or maybe in context), but the thought of some long held animosity played out among natural elements that involves "you stink" and "phooey" cracks me up, particularly when juxtaposed against the classic beauty of the actual Beren and Luthien story.

Thanks on the comment, and yes - very funny quote.
This'll be the 2nd year in a row that we have an original, interactive show that features Miss Issippi as an anthropomorphic female.
