Addendum to "Ass Was Kicked"

Official Eagle Bluff Challenge results, here.

Now, alas, if it has only been Loni Anderson bouncing along up in first place, both T-Clog and I might've speeded up our own respective paces a bit.

Lots of females in that race - that strikes me as unusual. On casual perusal (not actually counting) it looks like nearly 50%.

Good job again.

Loni Anderson is 61 years old. Her last role was on a VH1 sitcom (ieieieieieie) "loosely based on the life of Tori Spelling", called....wait for it....noTORIous. Perhaps not surprisingly, it was canceled after 10 episodes. It should have been canceled for 'creative spelling' after the person suggested the title.

Lori Anderson might be the better choice after all.

Shit, 20 of them were female. Way more than 50%. Were you guys in some sort of women only race? Seems like if TClog couldn't race elementary schoolers, he might have thought he had a shot at 'the ladies'. Not so much.

I'm not surprised. I think there's at least as many female runners out there as male. At least, that seems to have been my experience both in races I've run and just in encountering people along my runs.

With WAY too broad-sweeping of a brush, I think there's a lot more guys out there that ride the coattails of their "glory years," sort of feeling like they've got nothing more to prove after their athletic, virile high school to college years come to a close. I also think there's a lot of women sort of reclaiming their feeling of self worth (that is battered down through years of gender bias everywhere ranging from TV to school to their own home) through fitness.

You can take my word for all this or just watch any husband and wife combo in your favorite sitcom.

All that said, this is the first race I've ever been associated with where a women came in first, overall. Way to go, Lori.

Indeed. Very impressive.
