Yesterday-about 70 degrees with a breeze. I headed off to Hyland Park again-this time taking a south loop and running for about 40 minutes with a pushup/situp break in the middle. Once again, a wondrous experience. Saw: red-tailed hawk, plenty of deer tracks, fur and bleached bones of some sort of coyote prey. Heard: pheasant (two different places), cry of red-tailed hawk, chorus frogs.
Man, that just recharges my jets.

Sounds like you ran through the fields in "Song of the South". I worked out in the UI Fieldhouse, complete with broken lockers and a shower that spits out pine needles. I simply lack the courage to run outside.
Now that's a shower for manly men.
Good stuff. Hoping to get out for a run tonight, though nothing so glamorous.
Orange dust still coats the linings of my lungs from inside runs I did at the ISU recreation complex in college. I almost can't imagine a set of circumstances that would force to to do a run indoors.
You ran indoors there other than playing basketball?
Yuck.
Yup. Not sure if it was a one-two punch before or after lifting, or what. Seems ridiculous, in hindsight. Of course, in those days I never ran over 3 miles-so I wasn't at it too long.
