Movies that were in my queue that I just deleted.
My Netflix queue, over time, has become rife with a particular couple of subsets of movies - particularly of both the documentary and "eclectic arthouse" varieties - that are in there because, though the subject matter is fascinating, they are ultimately movies I feel that I should see.
It took me a long time to get over feelings of guilt for simply bumping a movie back a few places in the queue. Now I'm finally at a point of liberation; realizing I don't have anything to prove to anyone, least of all myself.
Perhaps my schedule will clear up and the tiny hedonistic bucket wtihin me will be filled and I will seek out "Why We Fight" again, someday. But for the meantime, I'm going to charge forward with only movies I will be genuinely excited to see in my mailbox, and enjoy life a little more.

My Netflix cue is equally malleable. I figure a movie or show I picked out six months ago may not be as interesting-sounding to me today. These days I usually pick a movie and drop it right at the top of the list.
Thee's an epidemic of Netflixers that rent movies and sit on them for ages (including me). I think we are Ntflx's most desired customers.
Fascinating.
The urge to watch things you 'should watch' infects us all. You, as is your want, took that to a new level for a while. Glad to see you letting the good times roll as it were.
When I was in my late teens, I was looking for guidance on how to break out of the fanfare of the multiplex. I read a lot of reviews and found some great films. Then when I got to college I discoved the campus theatre. These days, I'm afraid I may not be as active a seeker as I used to be. At the same time, I've perhaps honed a sense of things I actually like versus films that I wouldn't care for even with the best reviews and word-of-mouth out there. I hope as I continue to get older, I'll continue to be open to different films. I just don't kick myself as hard when I choose to see something.
I should probably be clear: it's not like my queue is suddenly filled with crap. The only stipulation is that they have to be movies I am genuinely excited to see.
Big Momma's House moves to position #1 on the queue eh?
Waiting to hear about your take on Kangaroo Jack and Bratz!
