We were unable to salvage any large tree ring. By order of the City of Minneapolis, we were not allowed to retain any bark. The infestation of the beetles was too advanced. We have two large branch "stumps," each about a foot to a foot and a half wide set aside. Barkless.
I thought that might be the case, but I didn't know what they wanted people to do with the stumps. Will the grind the stump/roots for you so that you can have flat ground?

You should have them cut you a slab to lean up against your garage. Or you could make a outdoor table out of it.

They went down 6 inches.
