A Record High Here Today

That's right, I have a new highest score in my BeerAdvocacy. It's the Samuel Adams Holiday Porter (and my review should be at or near the top). It's a kind of weird situation, since (as I explain in the review) I'm giving it high scores partially due to understanding what they were going for, rather than judging purely on personal taste. The beer I've flat out enjoyed the most so far is the plain ol' Sam Adams Boston Lager, for which I haven't yet posted a review. I am up to 9 reviews, though, and so moving through my personal world tour at a respectable clip.

Great Dan. Somehow this post makes me think of our trip to the Mexican resturant were we played Mrs. Pac-man. Do you know if I still hold first place?

Yeah, you do. I was surprised you were able to enter "guythatslippedandadmittedhisdadhadastrategyguide" as your name in the top scores section.

Come on man, I never read it. I just played a lot of Mrs. Pac-man.

Hilarious!

I signed up for the beer advocate and will soon be doing reviews. I'm working my way through a Shipyard sampler pack that is almost universally excellent. Several of the beers included have scored close to or just above 4 on BA.

Some crazy stuff from that beer mapping website I sent. There are more than 4 breweries in Portland ME. But even crazier, there are 4 breweries on Mt. Desert Island - home to Acadia National Park. And these are BREWERIES, not just brew pubs.

Nice story, but you didn't just admit that your dad had the guide; in the heat of your 70K+ score game, you slipped and accused one of the ghosts of "not following the pattern".

Mixdorf, on your comment: I think you are definitely blessed with living squarely in the midst of the craft-beer breadbasket of the country. I'm looking forward to the reviews.
