I am Taking "The Acting Challenge"...Are YOU???

Soon, Aaron will be selecting a (hopefully) interesting and (hopefully) challenging movie monologue for me to perform in front of my vidcam. I am hoping to act the shit out of it. After I put my goods out on the line for all to see, I will select a scene for whomever it is that next steps up to the challenge. Will it be you? Or maybe You? Or perhaps maybe even YOU!!!

I'm game. Where are these scenes coming from? Are they linked together, creating a whole as it were?

I will love to act in your production.

He doesn't love it now, however.

I found a movie monologue repository website. I told Aaron to just select one for me, with no guidelines other than to make it a nice challenge.

Cory, they are MONOlogues. Mono, as in "one." There will be no one else in my scene. If you are game, as Mixdorf is, someone will select a scene for you and you will act it out for a camera. After I do my scene, I'll select one for Mixdorf. Mixdorf, can then select one for Cory.

Okay. I thought that you wanted us to participate in the same one. Well slap my head and call me silly.

OK Dan, I’ve picked out nine preliminary monologues. Do you have any requirements on length? Most are fairly short, but I think that is OK. Even a short monologue will accomplish what I think you are after. A longer one will only take up more of your time for memorization.

Also, any desire on it being a film that you have seen? All of the contenders are ones that I have seen, so if you have no preference, I can provide you with the context and your motivation.

And one last question. If I find myself at an impasse am I allowed to consult with others (looks at Mixdorf) on the choice? Or would you like for me to present you with a choice of two?

(This was also sent to Dan via e-mail)

A few thoughts:
1. Short is fine.
2. I'd be happy with one I've never seen before, though having the context &
so on provided by you might be nice.
2. You can consult with others.

Questions for you (and maybe Mixdorf):
1. Should we actually ALL (everyone who wants to be involved) get our
monologues assigned and do them, without anyone else seeing? Or should we
continue the way I originally suggested, with me doing it first, then moving
onto someone else, etc....?
2. Possibly related..there is a small chance I will decide that my digital
camera (with only 10 fps) is incapable of catching the nuances of my Master Craft. AJ, are you open to the possibility of catching the performance with your camera?

1. I am open to either.

2. I'd be willing to do it for scale.

I'll "scale" you, you son of a bitch!

I thought you were "catch and release."

Yup, catch em & release em down me throat.
